[1] Red kiosk with slanted roof, north Sydney. [2] Similar kiosk, but with Soanian dome, this one in Tasmania. Kiosk also stands clear of the ground! [3] Octagonal red kiosk; Christchurch, New Zealand. [4] Another red Kiwi kiosk! Someone tell British Telecom that our antipodean cousins consider red is a really cool colour for phoneboxes!

(Above) Many thanks to Dave Parker at INVECTIS for these great pictures of telefon kiosks in West Cork, Irish Republic. Note the Gilbert Scott-style windows and nice stacked roof with ventilation slits! Any info and/or photos of Southern Irish boxes would be very welcome!

"I know it's around here, somewhere!" [6] Place de la République, Paris, France. Like so many modern kiosks, [6] and [7] were designed by camouflage experts, while [5] is probably an overstatment!

Even the very old Canadian boxes were freestanding, like the modern BT ones - chilly in the winter, what with snowdrifts and the windchill.

US phone booth interior. As with Bell Canada kiosk above, phone mounted on corner post, as in aborted K7.

Airport at Thompson Falls, Montana. Ominous sky - I wouldn't like to be taking off.
